BROOKLYN, NY – June 3, 2021 – Outdoor specialty retailer REI Co-op and global design company West Elm today announce the debut of the latest product collaboration for summer. The continuation of the partnership marks the first wholly co-designed lifestyle collection that bridges the two retailers’ distinct expertise and original designs to an array of outdoor products. Together, both brands have teamed up to expand upon the first installment introduced in Spring 2020 to bring 10 newly designed, limited-edition pieces that emphasize comfort, style and convenience when getting outside. The new REI Co-op + West Elm collection is available at REI.com/WestElm and WestElm.com/REI

“As more people turn to the outdoors to reconnect with friends and family, we recognize the importance of offering products to help them elevate their experience and bring the comforts of home outside,” said Isabelle Portilla, REI Co-op divisional vice president of strategy and design. “West Elm brings a modern aesthetic and REI brings outdoor expertise. It has been fun to bring those elements together and celebrate casual time spent outside through this collaboration between our design teams.”

The West Elm in-house design team, together with REI Co-op’s outdoor experts, imagined the ready-for-anything outdoor collection featuring 10 grab-and-go products to enjoy summer outside. Each of the products feature thoughtful engineering and tactile elements. The innovative Outward Dining Table ($125) is capable of seating four adults, and features a foldable frame with accordion-style, roll-up slat top that’s easy to stow. The climbing-inspired Outward Rope Chair ($69.95) is a bifold lounge chair with powder-coated steel frame and rope seat in two colors—greenish petrol and horseradish yellow. The waterproof Outward Day Shelter ($150) is a versatile canopy that allows you to customize your camp configuration and make you feel more at-home, outdoors.

“Our new collection with REI Co-op is created to help our customers bring their love of entertaining beyond their backyard and into the great outdoors,” said Jeffrey Hannoosh, Senior Vice President of Design for West Elm. “The West Elm and REI design teams had so much fun collaborating on this season’s collection. Each piece is designed to enhance the comfort and style of moments spent outside, and built to make setup quick and storage convenient. It’s the perfect suite of products for any summer occasion.”

The REI Co-op + West Elm collection ranges in price from $14.95 to $150. The full collection of items is available just in time for summer and features everything from 32-ounce water bottles ($14.95) and collapsible camp stools ($39.95) to water-resistant outdoor pillows ($40) and an insulated picnic tote ($79).  Each item is specially designed to make outdoor experiences more enjoyable while inspiring customers to experience their day excursions to the neighborhood park, local waterfront or destination site in style.
